Homes And Autos For The Veterans From Wells Fargo
U.S Army Staff Sergeant and Purple Heart recipient Jeremiah Busby has served two tours of duty as a sniper in the Iraq War. He sustained serious injuries when an improvised explosive device went off near his Humvee. Although Busby recovered from his physical injuries, he struggled to recover from the psychological ones. Like many of the military veterans, he too found it hard to adjust in his civil life.
“I couldn’t go anywhere. I couldn’t go to stores,” Busby said. I was always in the mode of ‘someone’s after me’ or ‘someone’s going to try to get me’ or ‘someone’s going to try to kill my family.
Busby suffered in silence for two years without any help until Military Warriors Support Foundation came to his rescue. He not only received help from the nonprofit to recover from his post-traumatic stress but in 2014, he also received a mortgage-free home from Wells Fargo through their Homes4WoundedHeroes program.
“Words can’t describe how grateful we are,” Busby said. “This was a way for me to deal with my issues and not fear where we’re going to live or if we’re going to be able to pay rent.”
If you are a military veteran, Wells Fargo runs various programs to help veterans get back on their feet. They offer a number of world-class banking services and you can read about them at www.routingnumberusa.com.
Vehicles For Veterans
Like Busby, former U.S. Army Sergeant and Purple Heart recipient Tristan Brown also received help from Wells Fargo. His family was dependent on their old vehicle with oil problem. But Wells Fargo made sure that is not a problem anymore. Wells Fargo Dealer Services worked with a network of 14,000 car dealer customer to give Brown and his family a new minivan.
Today as much as 60 percent of military veterans are living in rural areas without any public transportation. Wells Fargo Dealer Services is supporting Military Warriors Support Foundation's Transportation4Heroes program to provide veterans with payment-free vehicles.
“It’s going to be huge for us to have two vehicles,” Brown said. “I can go to my VA appointments and they can still have a vehicle at home.”
All the dealers providing vehicles at low costs to Wells Fargo are happy to help the ex-military.
“Our dealer customers love the opportunity to be able to work with Wells Fargo to support veterans,” said Darrell Campbell of Wells Fargo Dealer Services. “Our customers really appreciate the fact that we’re involved in the community and giving back like we are.”
